Add your first resource

A Resource is the target you want VaultPAM to broker access to. Start with one RDP host or one SSH host, give it a clear display name, and point it at the connector that can reach the target network.

Before you begin​

  • You already paired at least one connector.
  • You know the hostname or IP address of the target.
  • You know the target port: 3389 for RDP or 22 for SSH.

Steps​

  1. Open Resources in the app and choose Add resource.
  2. Enter a display name that users will recognize.
  3. Add the hostname or IP address and the correct port.
  4. Choose the connector that can reach the target.
  5. Run the connectivity test so VaultPAM can check the path through the connector.
  6. Save the resource once the test passes.

What happens next​

  • The Resource becomes available to Safes.
  • You can bind it to a Safe with a credential and policy.
  • After the Safe is in place, users can launch sessions against it.
